Although the Warriors have had a lackluster offseason to this point, that isn't going to deter Golden State general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. from trying to turn this team into a contender. However, having finished 10th in the Western Conference last season with a 37-45 record, that task may be easier said than done.
Dunleavy Jr., who recently spoke to the media, is planning on working the midseason trade market after missing out on marquee free agents. "If you just look at our books, our assets, we've got a lot of ways to entice teams and make things available and worthwhile for them to do a trade with us. I feel pretty confident that if we have to improve the roster in the middle of the season, we can."
While bringing in another superstar doesn't
appear feasible at this point, things could be different by the February trade deadline. Given the nature of today's NBA, which is constantly changing, Dunleavy Jr.'s patience could turn out to pay dividends.
