Stephen Curry struggled with a knee injury during the 2025-26 season. As such, the superstar guard only made 43 regular-season appearances for Steve Kerr's team and was often trying to find his rhythm, rather than playing anywhere near his best basketball. Unfortunately for Golden State, Curry's injury issues were part of a long list the coaching staff had to navigate.
However, as the new NBA season approaches, Warriors fans will undoubtedly hope that Curry bounces back and remains healthy, which in turn will give the franchise its best shot at success. With that in mind, Curry's wife, Ayesha, recently told NBC Sports Bay Area that she expects Curry to be ready for when the new season gets underway.
“Of course,” Ayesha said. “Steph is the hardest-working
man in the room. He has no days off. He hasn’t stopped since last season ended. He’s ready. He’s ready to get out there. I think we’re going to be in for some fun surprises over the next couple of years.”
Curry is also heading into a contract year. He's widely expected to re-sign with the franchise in the coming weeks or months. Nevertheless, Curry has plenty of reasons to be motivated for the upcoming campaign, and that can only be a good thing for the Warriors.
Still, talks of Curry's future are going to persist until he signs a new deal with Golden State. However, if he hits the ground running to start the season and is still operating at a superstar level, those concerns will quickly fade away, especially as Curry is expected to spend the last few seasons of his career in the Bay Area.
