The Golden State Warriors earned their second consecutive preseason win Tuesday night, defeating the Los Angeles Lakers in Las Vegas 101-89. Rookie forward Yaxel Lendeborg stood out once again, tallying 17 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. However, the former Michigan forward was removed from the game in the third quarter, having twisted his left ankle on a drive to the rim.
Following the game, the recent NCAA champion spoke about the injury, downplaying its severity: "The ankle feels better. I feel like maybe tomorrow, it's maybe going to hate me a little bit more, but right now I feel good."
With five of six preseason games complete, the Warriors have one more matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers (Oct. 16) before their
season opener against the Lakers (Oct. 21). Considering Lendeborg's status, Golden State would be wise to rest the recent No. 11 overall pick during Friday's matchup against Portland.
