Throughout Golden State Warriors training camp, one of the biggest storylines has been offseason addition Brandon Williams. Despite being known as a speedster, Williams' quickness still surprised his new team, as many players and staff have raved about the former Dallas Mavericks guard.
Beginning with head coach Steve Kerr, he compared Williams to one of the fastest players he's seen throughout his time in the NBA, "The Brazilian Blur," saying, “The fastest guy we’ve ever had. (Leandro) Barbosa comes to mind.”
Another free agent addition, Georges Niang, had a comical response when asked about Williams' speed, saying, "He has a unique ability to take off when he gets the ball; he's kind of like the Road Runner."
"As a guy that moves from slow to
slower, I can appreciate how fast he moves."
Last season with the Mavericks, Williams had a career year, averaging 13 points, 3.9 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 0.9 steals. With an exceptional ability to attack in transition, the former Arizona guard will give Steve Kerr another weapon off the bench.
