In his first preseason game as a member of the Golden State Warriors, rookie Yaxel Lendeborg had a quiet scoring performance, registering just four points on 1-of-6 shooting from the field in a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers in Hawaii.
In his second preseason contest, the rookie out of Michigan quickly reminded everyone why the Warriors selected him No. 11 overall in the 2026 NBA draft. Lendeborg helped pace the Warriors in a blowout win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, recording a game high 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field with a pair of made 3-pointers. Lendeborg also led the Warriors with nine boards in 21 minutes as a starter.

Since being drafted in the first
round in June, Lendeborg has had an exciting start to his career in Golden State, helping lead the Warriors to a championship in the Summer League while also being named Summer League Most Valuable Player. In his final season of college basketball at Michigan, Lendeborg won the National Championship with the Wolverines, averaging 15.1 points on 51.5% shooting from the field to go along with 6.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per contest. Lendeborg was named a first-team All-American.
Following his impressive performance against the Lakers, Lendeborg recieved the night off on Wednesday against the Portland Trail Blazers. Lendeborg will get his next chance in the preseason on Saturday night against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. PT.
