After a slow offseason period that saw the Warriors sign just two new free agents, many fans are hopeful for a big move that can push Golden State back into contention. Additionally, many NBA experts expect the Warriors to make a blockbuster move as well to maximize the final years of Stephen Curry's career.
In a recent ESPN poll conducted by NBA insiders, Golden State was voted as the most likely team to make a "big move" before the February trade deadline. The Warriors received twice as many votes as the second-place team, the Detroit Pistons. The Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets were voted in a tie for third place.
With their own first-round pick in every year besides 2030, Golden State has the draft capital to pull off a deal. However, considering
that Warriors owner Joe Lacob and general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. have been reluctant to trade picks as of late, adding a star via the trade market may prove difficult.
