Following recent reports from Kings insider James Ham, speculation has surfaced regarding Zach LaVine's future in Sacramento. If he were to negotiate a buyout with the Kings, he'd have plenty of suitors, a list that could include Golden State.
Given his high-volume 3-point shooting, LaVine would make a great pair in Steve Kerr's offense next to Stephen Curry in a similar role to Klay Thompson, an accurate 3-point shooter who thrived in 11 seasons with the Warriors. Last year, LaVine made just 39 appearances, averaging 19.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 0.7 steals. LaVine's 19.2 points per game were his lowest output since the 2017-18 season, his first with the Chicago Bulls.
However, LaVine's shooting ability has remained throughout his
career, as the 31-year-old holds an average of 39.1% from beyond the arc on six attempts per game. That said, it would take strong convincing for LaVine to land with the Warriors if he were bought out, as many other contenders (Detroit and Miami) could provide him with a better chance to win. Golden State's strongest selling point may be their proximity to LaVine's current home in Sacramento.
