Over the last few seasons, the Golden State Warriors front office has been searching for another star to pair with two-time MVP Stephen Curry. Most recently, the franchise was after Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James. They also held preliminary trade discussions involving Jaylen Brown and Jaren Jackson Jr. before their eventual trades to the 76ers and Jazz.
With plenty of cap space at their disposal this summer, it appears as though the Warriors are gearing up to hunt for a star player once again. According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, Golden State is "eyeing big targets next summer," including three-time MVP Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets.
Jokic, arguably the league's best player in the 2020s, has finished top-2 in MVP voting in each
of the last six seasons. During that run, Jokic has taken home three MVP awards and won one championship. In 12 seasons, the Serbian forward holds career averages of 22.2 points, 11.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.7 blocks.
