Before beginning training camp in Hawaii, the Golden State Warriors held media day Monday, addressing offseason questions prior to the 2026-27 campaign. Having made minor moves in the free agent market, Golden State's most notable addition was recent No. 11 overall pick Yaxel Lendeborg, who had just won an NCAA championship with Michigan.
During media day, head coach Steve Kerr spoke about Lendeborg and the role he would play this season for the Warriors, saying, "He's clearly going to play a ton. He gives us the size and the versatility that we need. Whether he's a starter or coming off the bench, that will be determined the next couple of weeks."
Having served as a Swiss army knife throughout his collegiate career, Lendeborg will be able to
fill in the gaps for Kerr's rotation. Last season with the Wolverines, Lendeborg averaged 15.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks in 40 games.
