Although he only has one season remaining on his current contract, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has downplayed contract extension talks all offseason. Despite finishing 10th in the Western Conference a season ago, Curry expects Golden State to be a winning team heading into his 18th NBA season.
"I don't want there to be no drama," Curry told Anthony Slater. "No talking points. This team should be competitive and go win."
Curry also revealed that he will face the decision of a contract extension whenever it suits him best, saying, "It's going to happen at the right time, once I have all the information I need to make the decision that is right."
"I'll make the decision when I'm ready."
With Curry having indicated his desire to retire
with Golden State, fans shouldn't necessarily be worried about his future with the franchise. However, the Warriors' front office may be concerned if the former two-time MVP reaches unrestricted free agency next summer.
