The Golden State Warriors have new plans for training camp this year, according to NBA insider Dalton Johnson. Golden State is set to conduct pre-season training camp in Hawaii, ahead of their first preseason matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers at the University of Hawaii. They will depart from Golden State after NBA media day (September 28) and train in Hawaii leading up to the game.
This matchup against the Clippers will be their first of six preseason games, with two matchups against the Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers before one game against the Sacramento Kings. The Warriors' final preseason contest is at home and scheduled for October 16, five days before their season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers. Last season,
Golden State had five preseason matchups, three at home and two away.
