After spending the first five seasons of his NBA career in the Bay Area, the Golden State Warriors traded Jonathan Kuminga to the Atlanta Hawks at the deadline in a deal that included Kristaps Porzingis. While with the Hawks, Kuminga played against his former team once, recording two points, four boards and two assists in 22 minutes on the way to a win over his former team.
On Wednesday, Kuminga suited up against his former team again, this time with the Minnesota Timberwolves. With Anthony Edwards sidelined, Kuminga provided some offensive firepower for the Timberwolves, scoring a team-high 20 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field with three made 3-pointers. Kuminga added five assists, three boards and two steals against the Warriors.
While
Kuminga led the Timberwolves in scoring, it was Steph Curry and the Warriors that got the final word. Curry exploded for 44 points to lead the Warriors to a 119-114 win over the Timberwolves on Wednesday night.
Kuminga has had an impressive start to his first season in Minnesota, averaging 13.2 points on 46% shooting from the field and 47.6% from beyond the arc to go along with 5.2 rebounds and three assists through five games with the Timberwolves.
