As the offseason winds down, the Golden State Warriors have been busy. Following their unsuccessful pursuit of LeBron James, the Warriors remained mostly quiet throughout the summer, re-signing players like Kristaps Porzingis, De'Anthony Melton, Gary Payton II and Al Horford. However, late in the offseason, Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Steve Kerr signed a pair of free agents to fill out the roster, adding Brandon Williams and Georges Niang. Yet, reportedly, they weren't done showing interest in free agents.
According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Warriors were one of the teams "in the mix" for free agent Ben Simmons. Despite being in the mix, Simmons signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Sacramento Kings, per Shams Charania of ESPN.
Along with the Warriors, the defending champion New York Knicks were one of the teams reported to be in the mix for Simmons, per Amick.
