What is the story about?

After Kristaps Porzingis stepped away from the Golden State Warriors due to health concerns, the franchise has explored the trade market, looking to include his contract in a potential deal. Considering Golden State's need for another big man in his absence, the Warriors have been linked to a couple of potential replacements according to NBA insiders.

Beginning with Milwaukee Bucks center Myles Turner, Golden State isn't as interested in the 12-year veteran as they once were. According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Warriors are unwilling to take on Turner's $26 million average annual salary through the 2028-2029 season without other incentives.

However, Fischer notes that the Warriors have contacted the Bulls about a potential deal regarding

Jalen Smith, who is earning $9.4 million with Chicago on the final year of a three-year contract. In seven games for the Bulls, Smith has averaged career-high scoring numbers as a starter, tallying 12.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, two assists, 0.4 steals and 0.9 blocks in 24.7 minutes per game.
