After spending most of the offseason bringing back internal free agents like Kristaps Porzingis, Gary Payton II and De'Anthony Melton, the Golden State Warriors have finally added a new face this summer. According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the Warriors are signing free agent guard Brandon Williams to one-year, $2.6 million deal.

The 27-year-old guard played the last three seasons with the Dallas Mavericks. Last season in
Dallas, Williams averaged 13 points on 47.2% shooting from the field to go along with 3.9 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 22.2 minutes per contest. Williams played a career-high 66 games last season, starting 15 for Jason Kidd's team.
Williams went undrafted out of Arizona in 2021, and played for the Portland Trail Blazers for one season before joining the Mavericks. Williams has also spent time in the G League, playing for the Westchester Knicks, College Park Skyhawks, Osceola Magic and the Texas Legends.
The Arizona Wildcats product will compete for minutes in the backcourt behind Steph Curry with De'Anthony Melton, Brandin Podziemski and Will Richard.
