The Brooklyn Nets are in the midst of their rebuild and as a result, there will be plenty of moving pieces within the team moving forward as they try to get back to playoff contention. Brooklyn is dedicated to coming out of this rebuild with the ability to compete for a championship and from this point on, Nets fans will have a new viewing experience watching their team.
"We're gonna have a dedicated YES [Network] subscription similar to how it's sold today, in the sense of if a subscriber just wants to purchase the YES product to access Nets games as well as all the other YES content that's within their linear channel and all the behind-the-scenes content, they'll be able to do so," Zander Berlinski, SVP, Strategy & Business Development for
DAZN, said in an exclusive interview with Nets Wire.
As many Nets fans know at this point, DAZN will be streaming Brooklyn's games for the upcoming 2026-27 NBA season and for the foreseeable future. As Berlinski alluded to, Nets fans will be able to purchase subscriptions from DAZN and if they already have a cable plan, they will be able to stream games on DAZN's website or through the DAZN app if they aren't able to watch YES Network at home.
"There'll be a dedicated environment within our DAZN application, which is actually already live now, so customers can sign up now at DAZN.com/network," Berlinski continued. "Essentially, customers will be able to come in, we'll have every single live game during the regular season that's not a nationally exclusive game so the vast majority of the games. All the games that you would see traditionally on YES Network on your cable system, it'll be a great experience."
DAZN, founded in 2015, is a British entertainment platform that broadcasts live and on-demand sports to over 200 countries and territories, including sports like soccer and combat sports like the UFC. Current Nets fans are likely familiar with the previous streaming platform, Gotham Sports, and how that platform operated over the past two seasons, but Berlinski and DAZN is trying to keep the experience as smooth as possible.
"We've always been searching for ways to enter this market in a more significant manner to grow our profile and have it look a lot more similar to what it looks like internationally in terms of tier one content," Berlinski when asked about the motivation for DAZN entering the NBA market this season. This upcoming season, DAZN will not only be showing Nets games, but it will be the exclusive home of five different teams, including the Minnesota Timberwolves.
"We had an opportunity heading into this season to acquire the the local rights in a number of different markets, and [we] felt like that was a really compelling opportunity for us to get in," Berlinski continued. "We'll have eight to 10 teams or so on the platform from an NBA perspective this year, and [we] would look to scale that from [there].
The Nets, specifically YES Network, have been seeing viewership dips since the big 3 was broken up officially during the 2022-23 season and the hope is that Brooklyn can put more star power on the team fairly soon. Heading into the 2026-27 season, the Nets will be led by forwards Michael Porter Jr. and Julius Randle and fans will be able to see them and the rest of the team on the DAZN platform. DAZN is looking to carry Nets games for the foreseeable future.
"We view this as a long-term partnership, so our intention is to be in this space for a long time. We're quite a large company from a international perspective, but we want to make inroads in this country," Berlinski said when asked if they would be sticking around with their NBA coverage. "So, our relationship with the YES Network is a long-term agreement. YES is obviously the broadcaster for the Nets, and so we're definitely not looking at this as a trial."
At this point, the first chance for Nets fans to see how the viewing experience on the DAZN platform will come on Oct. 6 when Brooklyn opens the preseason at the Charlotte Hornets. "We think we can provide a great experience for fans and have an interest in not only continuing to broadcast all the rights that we've acquired to date, so that those those 10 or 11 teams, but also continuing to expand from there," Berlinski said.
