The Brooklyn Nets are two weeks away from beginning their 2026-27 NBA season with Media Day and then training camp to prepare for the upcoming campaign. Brooklyn likely has its entire roster set for the 2026-27 season as they have all 18 spots (15 standard contracts and 3 Two-Way contracts) filled up, but they are still making moves with camp on the horizon.
The Nets announced on Tuesday that they signed, and then waived, guards Dwight Murray Jr. and Isaiah Wong in a series of transactions, according to the team. Since the beginning of this month, the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn's G League affiliate, acquired the returning player rights to Murray and Wong, setting both of them up to be members of the G League team when this season officially begins.
Murray, 26, went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft after a five-year college career that saw him take the floor for Incarnate Word and Rider. Murray played for the Nets in the California Classic and Las Vegas Summer League earlier this summer and he averaged 8.0 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 41.7% from the field and 50.0% from behind the three-point line.
Wong, 25, was taken with the 55th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft after a four-year career at the University of Miami that put him on the draft radar by the end of the 2022-23 season. Wong played his first two seasons in the NBA for the Indiana Pacers and Charlotte Hornets before taking the floor for Dreamland Gran Canaria this past season in the Spanish ACB league.
As Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors pointed out, "signing Exhibit 10 contracts with the Nets will ensure that Wong and Murray receive bonuses worth up to $91K on top of their base G League salaries if they spend at least 60 days with Long Island." Time will tell if Murray and Wong are able to play well enough at the G League level to command NBA minutes, but for now, Brooklyn is laying the foundation for them to be in Long Island this upcoming campaign.

Murray played for Brooklyn this summer and averaged 8.0 PPG, 1.7 RPG, and 1.7 APG while shooting 41.7%.
Wong averaged 13.7 PPG for Dreamland Gran Canaria this past season in Spain.
