Over the weekend, USC picked up a commitment from three-star 2028 quarterback Trey Wright. Wright is the Trojans’ first commit in their 2028 recruiting class.
Following the news, Wright received a message of congratulations from a notable figure: Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray.
“Trey, what up bro, Kyler here,” Murray said. “Just wanted to say congrats. You’re in great hands.
“Coach Riley is a great teacher, great mentor, developer. One of the best coaches that you could play for.
“Soak it up, take every day as it is, try to get better each and every day, and I hope you have a great career. Good luck.”
Murray, of course, played for USC head coach Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma, winning the Heisman Trophy under his guidance in 2018. A decade
later, Wright will look to become Riley’s next Heisman winner with the Trojans.
