Former Trojan Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears set the bar high in Week 1. In Week 2, they have a tall task against the elite Minnesota Vikings defense. Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson, however, have a proven track record of success against the brilliant defensive mind of Brian Flores. Week 2 will be a very entertaining chess match.
Here is how Week 2 will pan out for Caleb Williams and the Bears
:Caleb Williams will get the best of Brian Flores
Brian Flores has made many quarterbacks look like the worst version of themselves. He is a wizard and one of the best defensive minds in the NFL. Caleb Williams has held his own against Flores. In Week 2, Caleb Williams will keep that trend going, and he will be elite for a second straight week. Caleb will throw for 300 yards and continue to etch
his name among the best quarterbacks in the league.
Colston Loveland will avenge his quiet Week 1 performance
Colston Loveland was a non-factor in Week 1. However, the Bears' offense still had an historic performance. This week, Loveland will be the driving force for the Bears' offensive success. Brian Flores, the Vikings' defensive coordinator, likes to blitz and create chaos. Colston Loveland will be Caleb Williams' solution to all the chaos. Loveland will put up 100 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 to avenge his disappointing game in Week 1.
Luther Burden will be right behind Colston Loveland
Against the blitz, Caleb will need to get the ball out quickly, and his receivers need to get yards after the catch. Luther Burden is the best Bears player in regard to that ability. Luther Burden can get yards after the catch at a premium. He will have a big performance against a Vikings secondary that is gettable. Luther Burden will finish the game with 80 yards and a touchdown, proving he is a reliable target for Caleb.
Bears' defense will force 3 turnovers
Carson Wentz will be the Vikings' starting quarterback in Week 2. Wentz is a quarterback known for making costly mistakes. He may play well in this game at some points, but the Bears' defense will take advantage of the mistakes he will make at key points. The Bears will pick him off twice, and I think they will get a strip sack on Wentz to seal the game.
Montez Sweat will be dominant
Montez Sweat got a sack last week and looked promising. Sweat will be the biggest X-factor in whether or not this defense can be better than average. If he can be dominant this season, the Bears defense will be just fine. I think Sweat will show that in this game by bringing down Wentz 2 times. One of which will be a strip sack to close out the game.
