Week 2 was a down week for the majority of the USC Trojans in the NFL. Caleb Williams and the Bears took a loss, and Caleb left the game with an injury after dominating in Week 1. Leonard Williams and Amon-Ra St. Brown led the way with star-level performances.
Here is my breakdown of how some former USC football players fared in the second week of the NFL season:
Amon-Ra St. Brown
St. Brown was the clear star of the week for the USC Trojans in the NFL. St. Brown had 142 yards and 2 touchdowns on 9 catches. He put the Lions' offense on his back. Unfortunately for him and the Lions' offense, they could not keep up with the Buffalo Bills' offense. Josh Allen put up an MVP-level showing. St. Brown, nonetheless, is on his way to having a top season.
Woody Marks
The Houston Texans
could not run the football in Week 2, and that did not exclude Woody Marks. He did not have much of an opportunity to make any type of impact. Marks had 8 carries for 8 yards. Marks had 5 catches for 27 yards. His ability in the passing game should be utilized a lot more this season because he can elevate the Texans' offense in that regard. Still, it was a quiet week for Marks.
Marshawn Lloyd
Marshawn Lloyd found the end zone in Week 2, but he still did not do enough to establish himself as the lead guy in the Packers' backfield. He got outgained by Kaleb Johnson, who is very new to the Packers' offense. Lloyd had 6 carries for 20 yards, plus 2 catches for 6 yards and a touchdown. That is less than ideal production for both Lloyd and a Packer offense that needs a Josh Jacobs replacement.
Makai Lemon
Makai Lemon's stardom in the NFL is definitely not emerging yet. His rookie season is be centered around development. He has made zero impact in the Eagles' offense. For another straight week, he was a non-factor. This week he finished the game with 1 catch for 14 yards.
Drake London
With another week of poor quarterback play in Atlanta, Drake London still did the most with what he had. London finished the game with 4 catches for 51 yards. He is clearly frustrated about the quarterback play he has been dealing with to start this season, and the Falcons are hoping Michael Penix Jr. can be the solution to that.
Caleb Williams
Caleb Williams became the main reason the Bears fell victim to a great Minnesota Vikings defensive performance. Williams got hurt in this game, but prior to his injury, he did not play up to his standard. He looked more like the player he was in his rookie season. Williams finished the game 15-26, 138 yards, and a brutal interception. Williams also had 42 yards on the ground. It felt like he had more, because he was running for his life this whole game. This is a game that Williams will just have to forget, and when he gets healthy, he can avenge it.
Jordan Addison
It was a slight improvement for Jordan Addison, yet his production still did not make much of a difference in the game. Addison had 2 catches for 21 yards against a bad Chicago secondary. He so far has not done enough to make a case for a second contract.
Isaiah Pola-Mao
The Raiders' defense has been a huge surprise this year. Pola-Mao has been an important component of that. Against the Chargers, he held up in coverage and finished the game with 4 tackles.
Tuli Tuipulotu
The Chargers' defense struggles continued this week. Tuli Tuipulotu did not make this defense any better this past week, as he only finished the game with 1 tackle. For the Chargers to get out of their 0-2 hole to start the year, Tuli has to play dominant ball again.
Talanoa Hufanga
It was another 6-tackle game for Hufanga, who led the Denver Broncos in limiting a high-powered Jacksonville Jaguars offense. He is a consistent performer and leader for the Broncos. His play was central for the Broncos and their ability to bounce back this week.
Leonard Williams
The 2026-27 season is off to a dominant start for Leonard Williams. In Week 2, Williams got his second sack of the season and had 6 total tackles. The Cardinals' offense got the door shut on them because of Williams.
Uchenna Nwosu
It was a very quiet week for underrated defender Uchenna Nwosu, as he finished this week's game with just 1 tackle. This is a guy who is a huge X factor for Seattle, so I don't expect too many performances like this for Nwosu.
