USC football got some key players back for its game against the Ohio State Buckeyes. One of those showcase players is freshman tight end Mark Bowman. He missed the past few weeks dealing with an injury, and this was his first week back on the field. He was on a limited snap count; however, he was one of the biggest stars of the night.
My breakout star from the Ohio State-USC game is Mark Bowman. It was already evident that Bowman could be special from the beginning of the season. He was the undisputed starting tight end as a freshman. Early on, he was drawing comparisons to Brock Bowers. His best game of the season was against the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, when he had 3 catches for 83 yards and 2 touchdowns.
On the big stage in a primetime game,
against the No. 2 team in the country, Mark Bowman showed exactly the type of player he is. He finished the night with 3 catches for 79 yards. He had the signature play of the game, the play that was a perfect reflection of USC's improved level of performance. He hurdled a Buckeye defender and broke multiple tackles for a 70-yard gain.
The athleticism, the YAC ability, and the physicality are all traits that will make Mark Bowman a first-round pick tight end prospect. It is great to have him back healthy, and he showed just how dangerous he can make the offense when he is in the lineup. I am excited to see how the rest of the season pans out for the spectacular freshman.
