USC football faces Indiana next Saturday in a massive game for the Trojans and Lincoln Riley. It's also a huge game for Indiana. It's a titanic game for the whole Big Ten Conference. Here's something to think about: The whole Big Ten, except for UCLA, will be rooting for USC on November 14.
UCLA hates USC and will want to have nothing to do with the Trojans. As for all the other teams involved in the Big Ten football championship race, they will pull hard for USC against Indiana this coming Saturday in Bloomington.
Just look at the Big 12 standings. UCLA has no losses and can clinch a berth in Indianapolis in December before it plays USC. UCLA just needs two wins to secure a berth in the Big Ten Championship Game. Everyone else is skating on thinner
ice, and nearly everyone will need USC to provide help against the Hoosiers.
Indiana has one loss in Big Ten play. The Hoosiers lead several Big Ten teams which have two losses. Those teams will all want USC to defeat Indiana. Ohio State, now with two Big Ten losses, will want USC to win Saturday's upcoming game even though it lost head to head to USC and will not win a two-team tiebreaker. Ohio State will want USC to win here against Indiana and then lose to UCLA. Then the Buckeyes could still have a path to Indianapolis because they have the head-to-head tiebreaker against Indiana. That's why a USC win over IU would still have value for Ohio State.
Oregon, Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin all have two Big Ten losses and are still in the hunt for the Big Ten Championship Game. They will all break out their USC pom-poms this coming weekend. What a wild Big Ten football season this has been. More plot twists await, and USC will be at the center of the most important game in the conference in Week 11.
