The more weapons USC has in the passing game, the more explosive the Trojans' offense will be. Last season, the Trojans had two bona fide wide receiver weapons in Makai Lemon and Ja'Kobi Lane. They also had a reliable, sure-thing tight end in Lake McRee. This season, there is some uncertainty among Jayden Maiava's pass-catchers, but a freshman is still providing some excitement. In a recent article, Lorenzo Reyna projects a highly touted recruit to be a breakout candidate for the Trojans in fall camp. Here is what he had to say about freshman Kayden Dixon-Wyatt:

But four-star signing from Mater Dei Kayden Dixon-Wyatt earns the chance to start out as the third option for this Air Raid offense before working his way to the leading wideout in the room.
Dixon-Wyatt attacks the football in flight but can adjust his body on short throws. He presents advanced separation on his routes too against defenders. He's got a chance to follow USC legend Amon-Ra St. Brown as the next Mater Dei star to thrive in the land of troy."
Dixon-Wyatt has all the upside to be an elite target for Jayden Maiava. As things currently stand, Terrell Anderson and Tanook Hines will take a bulk off the targets, but the Trojans need a 3rd target for Maiava to trust. Dixon-Wyatt is talented, and he is wise beyond his years; he should be primed to thrive in that role right out of the gates. He also slots in as a great complement to the other two top targets.
