On Saturday evening, the USC football team suffered an embarrassing 24-7 road loss to Wisconsin. With the defeat, the Trojans dropped to 6-2 on the year and 3-2 in Big Ten play.
On Sunday, the latest college football AP Poll was released. Following the loss, USC, who was ranked No. 16 last week, dropped out of the top 25 altogether.
It is the first time this season that the Trojans have not been ranked in the AP Poll. USC received just seven votes in the rankings—the program’s fewest since 2024. Wisconsin, meanwhile, came in at No. 25 after taking down the Trojans.
The road ahead does not get any easier for USC. Three of the Trojans’ final four opponents—No. 2 Ohio State, No. 4 Indiana, and No. 7 UCLA—are currently ranked in the top 10. Given how
USC looked against Wisconsin, it would take something remarkable for the Trojans to win even one of those games, let alone two or three.
