Week 5 of the college football season is officially here! And in the Big Ten, that means another full slate of conference games, with Northwestern the lone school facing a nonconference opponent.
So what can we expect to see in the league this week? Here are my Big Ten picks for Week 6:
Iowa over Washington (Friday)
Given what we have seen from Washington’s offense this season and the fact that Iowa is, well, still Iowa, do not expect a lot of points to be scored in this one.
Indiana over Nebraska
Somehow, Nebraska is still undefeated? That changes Saturday.
Northwestern over Ball State
Don’t look now, but Northwestern might actually be pretty good.
Oregon over UCLA
To USC fans, this game is basically Darth Vader against Voldemort. Unfortunately, someone has to win, and that someone is the Ducks.
Illinois over Michigan State
The Spartans might be the worst team in the conference.
Ohio State over Maryland
Correction: Michigan State might be the second-worst team in the conference. That is because Maryland still exists.
Penn State over USC
Penn State has not looked very good, but I simply do not trust the Trojans on the road.
