Countdown to kickoff is back! USC will kick off its 2026 football season on August 29 when the Trojans host San Jose State at the Coliseum. In this series, we will be counting down the days until the season opener by highlighting a notable Trojan who wore each number.
With 17 days to go, today we look at former USC cornerback Christian Roland-Wallace.
Position: Cornerback
Years played at USC: 2023
Career highlights: Roland-Wallace spent his first four seasons of college football at Arizona, playing against the Trojans four times during that stretch. He transferred to USC for his final year of eligibility in 2023 and started at cornerback that season. Roland-Wallace finished his lone year in Cardinal and Gold with 37 tackles, nine passes defended,
and two interceptions.
After USC: Roland-Wallace signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL Draft. He impressed in camp and made Kansas City’s 53-man roster, appearing in all 17 regular season games and all three of the team’s postseason contests—including Super Bowl LIX—as a rookie. He finished his rookie season with 34 total tackles, one pass defended, one interception, and one forced fumble.
Last year, Roland-Wallace again appeared in all 17 games for the Chiefs, once again recording 34 total tackles and an interception, in addition to three passes defended. He will look to play an even bigger role for the team this fall as Kansas City hopes to bounce back from a massively disappointing 2025 campaign.
