The USC-Notre Dame rivalry is officially back! On Monday morning, the Trojans announced an agreement to resume their series with the Irish beginning in 2030.
Last December, it was announced that USC and Notre Dame would not face each other in 2026. This fall will mark just the second time in the past 80 years that the two schools will not play in football.
Over the past few months, however, the Trojans and Irish had resumed negotiations regarding the future of the series. While they will not play each other the next four years, the two sides were ultimately able to reach an agreement to resume the rivalry in 2030.
The 2030 matchup will be played in Week 1 at the Coliseum. The following year, USC will travel on the road to South Bend, with the game
again taking place in Week 1 of the season. The 2032 and 2033 matchups will be in the first three weeks of the season, with more details on those meetings to be announced at a later date.
USC will open its 2026 season on August 29. Without Notre Dame on the schedule, the Trojans’ nonconference slate this fall will consist of San Jose State, Fresno State, and Nevada.
