USC football remains a top-15 team in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, presented by USA TODAY Sports. The Trojans sit at No. 15, which is unchanged from the previous week. USC did not play this past Saturday, so it might seem natural that the Trojans' place in the new poll did not change, but a lot did change in the Big Ten and across the country.
In the Big Ten, Ohio State moved up three spots from No. 5 to No. 2 after its win over Indiana. The Hoosiers fell two spots from No. 4 to No. 6. UCLA moved up two spots from No. 12 to No. 10. Iowa moved up two spots from No. 16 to No. 14, passing USC.
Outside the Big Ten, BYU moved up five spots from No. 8 to No. 3 after beating Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish fell six spots from No. 2 to No. 8. Miami
moved up two spots from No. 3 to No. 1. Georgia previously occupied the top spot but fell three spots to No. 4 after its loss to Auburn. Texas Tech moved up four spots from No. 9 to No. 5. Ole Miss moved up three spots from No. 10 to No. 7. Utah moved up two spots from No. 11 to No. 9.
Here's a fun fact about this week's poll: Of all 25 teams in the poll, USC and Oregon are the only two teams which did not move at all in the rankings. Here's another fact: The 23 teams other than USC and Oregon which did move in the poll all moved at least two spots up or down. No team moved only one spot (up or down) in the poll after one of the wildest, most chaotic college football Saturdays in recent memory.
