On Saturday evening, the USC football team will return home to the Coliseum to host Ohio State. After an ugly loss at Wisconsin last week, the Trojans are desperate for a victory to get their season back on track.
Notably, the Buckeyes will be without starting quarterback Julian Sayin—who is expected to be out at least several weeks—for the game. Ohio State head coach Ryan Day has yet to reveal a starter for Saturday, with true freshman Luke Fahey and redshirt freshman Tavien St. Clair both potential options.
“Both will be ready to play,” Day said Wednesday, via The Columbus Dispatch. “Guys on the team have confidence that if both were put in the game, that they can do their job.
“Things have progressed this week similar to the way they have in the past.
I’ll just leave it at that, keep preparing and play the game on Saturday.”
Whoever is under center for the Buckeyes will have the luxury of throwing to perhaps the best wide receiver in college football in Jeremiah Smith. The Trojans’ defense will face the extremely difficult task of keeping Smith in check.
Kickoff between USC and Ohio State is set for 4:30 p.m. Pacific time Saturday on NBC.
