Another freshman playmaker for the USC Trojans inserted himself into the conversation as a top target for Jayden Maiava: Mark Bowman. King Miller ran wild, and Trent Mosley continued to live up to the superstar hype. The Trojans had many great performances on Saturday.
Here are the biggest studs and duds from the USC Trojans' third game of the season:
King Miller
King Miller is separating himself and making his case as the top back in the Trojans' backfield. Waymond Jordan had some physical runs in the second half and made some plays. King Miller looked and produced like the lead guy. Miller had 128 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. His 7.1 yards-per-carry average shows off the great explosion he plays with. He is the most explosive back, and when he gets
going, the Trojans' offense is nearly unstoppable.
Trent Mosley
Trent Mosley did not have 100 receiving yards. In fact, he only had 2 catches per game. However, when you are a playmaker like Mosley, it does not take much. Mosley, on his 2 catches, had 33 yards and a touchdown. He also added an 83-yard punt return to his performance. Each week, he continues to show he is a special player and the Trojans' guy.
Mark Bowman
The Mark Bowman breakout game finally came. Bowman against Louisiana posted 6 catches for 83 yards on the day. Bowman was showing how much of a factor he can be in the Trojans' passing game. His athleticism was on full display in this game as he hurdled two defenders on a big gain. The Trojans' receivers are elite, but now it is evident that USC has an elite tight end as well.
Luke Wafle
Luke Wafle had a very disruptive game and played a huge part in the Trojans' defensive line being very dominant against Louisiana. Wafle had 7 total tackles, 6 of which were solo, and he had 1 tackle for loss. He has already lived up to the hype in a big way, but in Week 2, he put together his most complete performance yet.
Deven Bryant
Deven Bryant was flying all over the field, making plays and tackles all game long. Each of his 5 tackles was a solo tackle. His play to start the season has been a big factor in the Trojans' run defense improving immensely. He has been a very sound and consistent leader of the defense.

Other freshman recievers
Boobie Feaster, for another game, could not get involved in the offense. This time around, he did not get a single target. It seems like the main guys out of this year's freshman class are emerging and taking their role in the offense. That leaves players like Boobie Featster and Tron Baker on the back burner. Tron Baker has been very impressive to start the season, but each game his role has continued to be reduced. In this game, he also did not get any targets. Both guys will have to just wait and stay ready until their number is called.
Veteran recievers
Tanook Hines and Terrell Anderson were both supposed to be the top two targets on the team this season. Instead, both of them have quickly had their roles reduced. Terrell Anderson's health did play a factor in his spot being taken. In his first game back, he was only able to get production on special teams when Trent Mosley got hurt. Terrell Anderson and Tanook Hines are both too talented not to have roles; however, it is clear their roles will not be as the lead guys in this USC receiver room.
