On Saturday night, the USC football team defeated Penn State 31-23 in State College, Pennsylvania. With the victory, the Trojans improved to 6-1 on the 2026 season and 3-1 in Big Ten play.
On Sunday, the latest college football AP Poll was released. Despite winning on the road in an extremely hostile environment, USC did not move up at all in the rankings, holding firm at No. 19.
The Trojans are one of six Big Ten teams ranked in the top 25. Joining them are No. 4 Ohio State, No. 5 Indiana, No. 12 UCLA, No. 17 Iowa, and No. 25 Northwestern.
After seven games in seven weeks, USC will now enjoy a much-needed week off. The Trojans will then head to Wisconsin on October 24. The Badgers are the first team outside of the top 25 in this week’s poll.
