Both Duke supporters and Charlotte Hornets fans were hit with bad news Friday, as it was revealed that Kon Knueppel suffered a left hamstring injury while training for the 2026-27 NBA season. Knueppel will be sidelined for the entire preseason and is expected to be re-evaluated during the first week of the regular season.
A season ago, Knueppel was exceptionally durable, playing in 81 of 82 regular season contests. The former Blue Devil shot the ball incredibly well, averaging 18.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 0.7 steals while shooting 42.5% from beyond the arc.
Knueppel also led the league in 3-pointers made while breaking the rookie record for 3-pointers made in a season. Hopefully for Charlotte and Knueppel, he'll be able to return
to the court as soon as possible. The Hornets begin their season October 21 against the Brooklyn Nets.
