Duke’s 2027 recruiting class could get a big bump on Wednesday.

Asa Montgomery, a 5-star recruit from Hillgrove HS (Powder Springs, Ga.), will announce his commitment on October 28 at 1:30 p.m. ET on his social media.

The No. 3 small forward and No. 8 overall player in the 2027 class, Montgomery, will decide between the Blue Devils, North Carolina, UConn, Georgia Tech and LSU, among others. He took an official visit to Durham on Oct. 2 for the annual “Countdown to Craziness.” Afterward, he canceled visits to Louisville and Arizona.

Days after his visit, several recruiting pundits put Duke as the favorite to land the 6-foot-7, 215-pound Montgomery.

Jon Scheyer and the Blue Devils currently have two commits in the 2027 class: 4-star power forward

Kager Knueppel and Australian point guard Luke Paul, who is unranked by 247Sports.

Duke opens the regular season on Monday, Nov. 2, against Army.
