Former Duke Blue Devil Cameron Boozer has been known to impact winning throughout his early career in high school and college. Now part of the NBA, the recent No. 3 overall pick is eager to prove himself at the highest level. With the departure of previous franchise stars like Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr., Grizzlies supporters will shift their focus and high expectations to Boozer.
During NBA media day, one of Boozer's newest teammates, former Virginia Cavalier Ty Jerome, praised his skillset and mindset, saying, "I think Boozer has got to be one of the most mature 19-year-olds I've seen. On the court, off the court, feel for the game. His ability to shoot, pass, and dribble at that height is super impressive. I think he's just going to impact
winning."
Having finished 13th in the Western Conference a season ago with only 25 wins, Boozer, Jerome and Cedric Coward will have their work cut out for them in Memphis.
