Ahead of the 2026-27 season, two of the top basketball schools in the state of North Carolina (Duke and UNC) held scrimmages with some of their current players and alumni. When viewing photos, fans couldn't help but notice how stacked Duke's lineup was in comparison to that of their rivals, North Carolina.
Pictured with the Tar Heels was 14-year veteran and NBA champion Harrison Barnes. Recent No. 4 overall pick Caleb Wilson was also there, with Luke Maye, a professional basketball player in Japan.
Duke's runs, on the other hand, included two NBA champions, Kyrie Irving, a nine-time All-Star, and Jayson Tatum, a six-time All-Star. A one-time All-Star, Paolo Banchero was also in attendance, with Cooper Flagg and Jared McCain showing up to scrimmage
earlier in the week.
While Duke has yet to tie UNC when it comes to NCAA championships, one thing is for certain. Not only does Duke have the strongest alumni in the NBA at the moment, but they also continue to produce more NBA talent than any other school.
