After one year at Duke, Kon Knueppel had an incredible rookie campaign with the Charlotte Hornets, leading the NBA in 3-pointers made as a rookie while shooting 42.5% from beyond the arc.
Entering the 2026-27 NBA season, hopes were high for Knueppel to continue where he left off. Ahead of training camp, the Hornets revealed that Knueppel suffered a hamstring injury, which kept him out of Charlotte's first eight games of the year.
After a lengthy rehab process, the former No. 4 overall pick appears ready to return. Prior to Charlotte's next matchup Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets, Knueppel has been listed as probable.
His return couldn't come at a better time for the Hornets, who currently rank dead last in both field goal percentage and points
per game. A season ago, the Wisconsin native averaged 18.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 0.7 steals.
