As the 2026-27 NBA season gets into full swing, Mavericks team president Masai Ujiri recently joined Dallas' broadcast during Saturday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. Ujiri answered plenty of questions, including many pertaining to former Duke star Cooper Flagg.
Ujiri, a former NBA champion as an executive with the Toronto Raptors, sees Flagg reaching the same level of success. "Cooper Flagg will win a championship," Urjiri said. "I don't know when it is; he's 19 years old. But you can tell with this type of player, God bless him with health, but he will win a championship."
Flagg, who is currently injured after taking a hard foul against the Indiana Pacers, has gotten his career off to a great start, taking home the NBA's Rookie of the Year
Award during his first season. Now, as the former Blue Devil enters his second season, Dallas and Ujiri appear far off from securing an NBA title, having finished 26-56 a season ago.
