The Duke Blue Devils attended ACC media day along with the rest of the conference Wednesday in Charlotte, North Carolina. While there, head coach Jon Scheyer and notable Duke players took questions. While Scheyer revealed more insight into his plan for the 2026-27 season, it was rising sophomore Dame Sarr who turned heads with one of his responses.
“I learned a lot last year. We had 35 wins. I feel like any time I step on the court, I feel like my teammates and I are going to win," said Sarr. "Coming back, I feel like we have a great team, a great staff, and I have the chance of winning a national championship."
As a freshman, Sarr was as durable as they come, appearing in all 38 contests while averaging 6.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists,
one steal and 0.4 blocks. Ahead of his sophomore season, Sarr is expected to anchor Duke's backcourt defense, as the 6'8" guard has the length, speed and athleticism to guard multiple positions.
