Current chief basketball officer and former No. 3 overall pick Jayson Tatum is in great form, propelling the Boston Celtics to another victory Sunday, their fifth straight.
Tatum finished with a game-high 32 points against the Orlando Magic, to go along with four rebounds, seven assists and two blocks. After scoring 13 points in Boston's season opener, Tatum has reached another gear during the Celitcs' five-game winning streak, averaging 31.3 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and one steal while shooting 48.2% from the field.
Boston's streak also included a victory against the Brooklyn Nets, where Tatum drilled a buzzer-beater to seal the deal.
Another former No. 3 overall pick from Duke, RJ Barrett, also had a solid performance for his team
Sunday. Against the Los Angeles Lakers, Barrett excelled in the absence of Kawhi Leonard, tallying a double-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, his first of the season for the Raptors.
Both Tatum and Barrett will be in action again Monday, playing on the second night of a back-to-back.
