The Mark Mitchell saga took another turn earlier this week, as the former Duke Blue Devil de-committed from Kentucky and re-enrolled at Missouri, according to college sports insider Joe Tipton. This completes what has been a roller-coaster sort of process following his fourth collegiate season.
After two years at Duke and two seasons with Missouri, Mitchell went undrafted and suited up for the Denver Nuggets during the 2026 NBA Summer League via a verbal agreement on an Exhibit-10 contract. After a court ruling granted him a fifth year of eligibility, Mitchell decided to ditch the NBA and commit to Kentucky. That commitment lasted less than two weeks, as Mitchell is now set to play his third season for Missouri.
During his fourth collegiate season
last year, Mitchell was dominant, averaging 18.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.5 blocks. This propelled the former Blue Devil to win All-SEC honors for the second consecutive season.
