During ACC tip-off earlier this week in Charlotte, North Carolina, Duke head coach Jon Scheyer revealed new injury news. While it was known that Drew Scharnowski was working through a knee injury, another Blue Devil was added to the injured list.
According to Scheyer, senior guard Caleb Foster will be sidelined with "an ankle injury for a short period of time".
The injury is quite recent, as Foster participated in Duke's "Countdown to Craziness" less than a week ago. However, Scheyer noted that Foster should return for Duke's season opener against Army.
Since then, Foster has been seen wearing a boot. Foster, who returned quickly from a fractured foot during Duke's March Madness run last season, averaged 8.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and
0.3 steals as a junior. If Foster were to miss time, Cayden Boozer and freshman Deron Rippey Jr. are the most likely replacements at point guard.
