Duke’s bye week is over, and the Blue Devils now face an eight-game stretch that will decide whether they get a chance to play for a repeat conference title.
The Blue Devils stand 4-0 after running through their non-conference schedule, including a massive win on the road at Illinois.
But how are Duke’s chances going forward? Here are the Blue Devils’ chances of winning their remaining games according to ESPN’s Power Football Index
.(Odds as of Monday, October 5.)
Week 6: at Georgia Tech (72.6 percent)
Earlier in the year, this looked like it might be an even game, but Brent Key’s team has been bad, with their only win coming against Mercer. The Yellow Jackets should be pumped up, though.
Week 7: vs. UNC (64.1 percent)
The Tar Heels played Notre Dame closer than anyone thought, but in the end, it was another loss
for Bill Belichick.
Week 8: at Virginia (51.3 percent)
The Cavaliers got toasted at Florida State this past Saturday. I’m not sure whether that says more about UVA or the Seminoles.
Week 9: vs. Boston College (89.2 percent)
The Golden Eagles' last two ACC losses have come by seven and nine points, respectively.
Week 10: at NC State (63.4 percent)
A huge win against Louisville has revived some hope in Dave Doeren’s team.
Week 11: at Miami (7.5 percent)
Former Duke connection Darian Mensah and Cooper Barkate helped the Hurricanes pour it on Clemson this past Saturday.
Week 12: vs. Clemson (65.8 percent)
By the time the season reaches this game, the Tigers could be in a complete downfall.
Week 13: at Wake Forest (39.7 percent)
Don’t look now, but the Demon Deacons are 4-1, with their only loss coming to Miami.
