Former Duke basketball star and recent No. 3 overall pick Cameron Boozer turned in another special performance Thursday night, as the Memphis Grizzlies won their fifth consecutive game to begin the 2026-27 NBA season. Boozer tied his teammate Isaiah Stewart with a team-high 18 points. He also added 12 rebounds and 12 assists to register his first career triple-double at the NBA level.
That said, it was a team effort all around, as Memphis finished with eight scorers in double-figures, leading to a 124-103 road victory against the Trail Blazers. Not only are the Grizzlies one of two NBA teams to begin the year 5-0, they are 4-0 on the road, including Thursday's win.
While Ty Jerome and Cedric Coward deserve plenty of credit, so too does Boozer,
who is averaging 15.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.6 blocks in 32.2 minutes per game. Boozer and the Grizzlies are likely to continue their winning ways Saturday, as Memphis hosts the Sacramento Kings, who are the only team to start 0-5.
