Duke has always had a lot of talent taking the court, but heading into this season, the Blue Devils might have the most depth they’ve had in some time.
How deep is Jon Scheyer’s squad? Five players are listed among college basketball’s top 100, and that doesn’t include Caleb Foster or Cayden Boozer, both of whom return after being producers for the Blue Devils last year.
Here is how ESPNranks the five Duke players.
No. 97 - Cameron Williams
The top power forward and No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 recruiting class, Williams will see playing time from the start, but don’t expect him to have the impact Cooper Flagg or Cameron Boozer had as true freshmen.
No. 78 - Dame Sarr
Sarr returns for his sophomore season after averaging 6.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists last year for the Blue Devils.
Look for his play to rise quickly as he is now familiar with the college game.
No. 34 - Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje
Only 17, the France native showed why he is so highly regarded in the exhibition game against Belmont, putting up 19 points, seven rebounds and two blocks.
No. 28 - Patrick Ngongba
The junior put on a show in the final exhibition game against Kansas, posting 28 points and 10 rebounds. Most impressive might have been his performance from the free-throw line, where he finished 9-of-10.
No. 8 - John Blackwell
One of the most impactful transfers of the past offseason, Blackwell should fit well on a team where he doesn’t need to score as much as he did at Wisconsin. Still, when the team needs points, he can light it up from anywhere on the floor.
