With the 2026-27 college basketball season right around the corner, the ACC revealed a list of preseason award winners, including Duke freshman Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje, who was named the preseason Rookie of the Year Award winner. The ACC also selected a preseason ACC First Team and Second Team, each of which included at least one current Duke player.
Named in the first team was incoming transfer John Blackwell, along with rising junior Patrick Ngongba II. They were joined by Thijs De Ridder (Virginia), Shelton Henderson (Miami) and another transfer student, Flory Bidunga (Louisville).
The only Blue Devil selected in the second team was the aforementioned Boumtje-Boumtje. Boumtje-Boumtje was joined by Malik Reneau (Miami), Jackson Shelstad (Louisville),
Chance Mallory (Virginia) and Amani Hansberry (Virginia Tech).
A season ago, Cameron Boozer was the Duke's lone selection to an ACC First or Second Team. Isaiah Evans earned ACC Third Team honors, while Maliq Brown was omitted despite earning the ACC's Defensive Player of the Year Award and the Sixth Man of the Year Award.
