After falling just short to the Golden State Warriors in the 2026 NBA Summer League championship, Cameron Boozer and the Memphis Grizzlies returned to the court Monday for their first of four preseason games.
Taking on the Atlanta Hawks, Boozer stuffed the stat sheet, posting 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals with only one turnover in 18 minutes of play.
Behind Boozer's performance and a 49-point second quarter effort, Memphis got the better of Atlanta 132-123.
Currently the odds on favorite to win the NBA's Rookie of the Year Award, Boozer and Duke, along with last year's winner Cooper Flagg, would become the first collegiate duo to win back-to-back Rookie of the Year awards since Walter Davis and Phil Ford (UNC) from the 1977-78
and 1978-79 seasons.
Boozer's college teammate, Isaiah Evans, scored two points in eight minutes for the Minnesota Timberwolves during his preseason debut.
