After recruiting both Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje and Luke Paul, who played overseas before committing to Duke, head coach Jon Scheyer appears to be after another overseas prospect. According to draft expert Jonathan Givony, Duke will be one of seven schools to host Matija Lukic, one of the top international prospects, on an official visit.
Currently 17 years old, Lukic is a 6'9" Serbian wing who plays for Casademont Zaragoza in Spain. Like the aforementioned duo of Paul and Boumtje-Boumtje, Lukic also competed in the recent U17 FIBA World Cup, averaging 16.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.4 steals and one block in seven games. Lukic helped lead Serbia to a silver medal, falling 107-81 to Boumtje-Boumtje and the United States in the final.
In addition to Duke, Lukic is also expected to visit Boston College, Utah, BYU, UNC, NC State and UConn. However, the Blue Devils won't get a ton of time with the Serbian, as Lukic is expected to visit all seven schools in a span of eight days.
