College football has officially kicked off, with most schools playing their first matchups over Labor Day weekend. The Duke Blue Devils started off on a positive note, defeating the Tulane Green Wave 17-3 behind a monster performance from running back Nate Sheppard. Former Blue Devils basketball player Sion James was in attendance, taking in the matchup between his two former schools.
James' former teammate at Duke and current Charlotte Hornets teammate, Kon Knueppel, was spotted enjoying opening week as well. Knueppel, a Wisconsin native, was seen representing the Badgers during their opening game against Notre Dame at Lambeau Field.
While there, Knueppel met up with another Hornets teammate of his, Pat Connaughton, a Notre Dame alum who played
both baseball and basketball for the university.
Unfortunately for Knueppel, Connaughton and the Fighting Irish will hold bragging rights over the former Duke forward, defeating the Badgers handily 41-13.
