Since joining the NBA, former Duke Blue Devil and recent No. 33 overall pick Isaiah Evans got off to a relatively slow start. After a mediocre summer league campaign with the Timberwolves, Evans appears to be turning a corner as preseason basketball comes to a close.
In Minnesota's final preseason game, Evans had his best performance, finishing with a game-high 21 points off the bench on 5-for-10 shooting from 3-point range to go along with three rebounds and two assists. The contest marked a breakthrough for the former Duke sharpshooter, who had tallied 17 points combined in his four prior preseason games.
Now with positive momentum on his side, Evans will hope to earn a place in Minnesota's rotation early on, especially while one of their best
shooters (Donte DiVincenzo) remains sidelined with an Achilles injury. Evans' first chance at regular season minutes will come Wednesday, Oct. 21, against the Miami Heat.
