The first look at two highly anticipated Duke basketball teams is less than a month away as Countdown to Craziness returns to Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 3, giving fans their first glimpse at the Blue Devils ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Jon Scheyer welcomes another talented freshman class headlined by Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje, Deron Rippey Jr. and Cameron Williams, while Kara Lawson brings back several of her top performers, including Toby Fournier, Delaney Thomas and Riley Nelson.
Doors to Cameron Indoor Stadium open at 6 p.m., with the event beginning at 7 p.m., but Countdown to Craziness will stretch throughout the afternoon.
A free Fan Fest begins at 3 p.m. at Card Gym Lot and Krzyzewskiville with food trucks, a basketball court,
inflatables, games, music and a beer garden. Players from the men's and women's teams are scheduled to make blue carpet appearances beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Both teams will be introduced to the Cameron Indoor Stadium crowd following performances from Duke's spirit squad and pep band.
The men's team will take the floor for an intrasquad scrimmage and dunk contest, providing an early opportunity to see how Scheyer's new-look roster is coming together. The women's team will compete in a 3-on-3 showcase after returning much of the core of last season's squad.
Countdown to Craziness will be only the beginning of a busy October for Scheyer's team.
Duke hosts Belmont for a scrimmage Thursday, Oct. 8, followed by an exhibition against Tennessee on Tuesday, Oct. 20. The Blue Devils then travel to face Kansas for another exhibition Sunday, Oct. 25.
The men's regular season begins Monday, Nov. 2, against Army West Point at Cameron Indoor Stadium, while the women's team opens its season the following night against Green Bay.
